S&T innovation, research and development are within the “five business sectors” as defined in company strategy, JCHX has formed an innovation system comprising of independent innovation and open innovation in line with the concept of “innovative and leading technology”.
Through establishment of Beijing New Mining Technology R&D Center, Beijing JCHX Mine Technology Research Institute, and JCHX Mine Engineering Design Institute, JCHX has formed an independent innovation system in line with its 4th “five-year” plan and “five business sectors” strategy, to provide consulting and engineering design services using technical achievements as a carrier, while focusing on engineering and industrialization of scientific research achievements.
High-end scientific and technological talents are recruited through post-doctoral scientific research workshop and cooperation with China University of Mining & Technology. JCHX Paste Backfill Laboratory, as the largest paste filling lab in China, comprising of a pilot paste backfilling system and a material performance test lab, serves as an experimental research platform for new backfilling technology, new equipment and new materials and is approved as “International Cooperation Base for Green Mining Technique based on Paste Backfill” by Beijing Science & Technology Commission.
JCHX has established S&T Innovation Division since February 2017 to integrate its resources and strengths for S&T research and development. Based on the brand effect, core technologies and market influence of JCHX, and relying on support from headquarters, S&T Innovation Division remains anchored in mining sector and strives to provide value-added services on top of experiment and research, scientific research and development, high-end consultancy, engineering design, and technical services. Mainly engaged in EP, EPC, EPC+OM works and sometimes BOT and BT works, being market-oriented and by way of project management and fleet export, S&T Innovation Division is busy exploring both domestic and overseas market while improving its management and operation mechanism, to support the research and engineering services of JCHX, to be the cradle for high-level skilled personnel, to facilitate quick decision-making process as well as profit growth for JCHX, then to realize a harmonious development among the society, JCHX, and its employees.
JCHX stays committed to playing a global leading role in mines development, construction, and operation, and never wavers in its pursuit of S&T innovation. A S&T expert committee led by 6 academicians including Gu Desheng, Wen Bangchun, Hong Boqian, Wang Xuguang, Sun Chuanyao and Cai Meifeng, and national engineering design master Liu Fanglai is established to provide JCHX with technological support and guarantee and improve JCHX’s development in science and technology.
Expert Committee
With an aim to be the world-class mining company, JCHX has unswervingly adhered to scientific and technological innovation, a scientific and technological expert committee was formed with the support from national famous academicians including Mr. Xuguang Wang, Mr. Chuanyao Sun， Mr.Aixiang Wu and Mr. Meifeng Cai from CAS/CAE and mining experts such as Mr. Fanglai Liu. The committee shall support and promote business development from the perspective of scientific and technological guidance.
Engineering Design and Research Institute
n line with the concept of “innovative and leading technology”, JCHX has established Mining Technology Research Institute and Engineering Design Institute (respectively restructured into Beijing JCHX Mine Technology Research Institute, and JCHX Mine Engineering Design Institute), the former one is mainly tasked with technological research, consultation and services for internal requests, meanwhile it undertakes multiple significant research projects in mining sector for which it is honored as “International S&T Cooperation Base” by Beijing Science & Technology Commission. JCHX Mine Engineering Design Institute is certified by Grade A Engineering Design Qualification for Metallurgical Mining Works.

Co-funded by JCHX Mining, Beijing Science & Technology University and Putzmeiser, JCHX paste backfill laboratory is a world-class facility with advanced equipment, skilled talents and state-of-the-art technologies to provide top-ranking services.
Equipped with physical and chemical property test instruments and devices, paste backfill pilot system, advanced equipment and technologies, the lab is fully-functioned and well-operated under organized structure and scientific management system to promote the development of backfilling technology and industrialization of scientific research achievements regarding to the disposal of solid waste and to cultivate talents.
The lab is dedicated to serve all customers and promote the development of backfilling and solid waste disposal technologies by cooperating with partners and implementing national development plan for the industry.
R&D of Intelligent Technology
JCHX endeavors to build intelligent mines and achieve informatization and automation in mining operation and management. Proactive efforts have been made by JCHX from the very beginning to promote the construction of intelligent mines. Targeted at safety production, cost reduction, and construction efficiency improvement, it cooperates with famous teams form Chinese universities to establish a technological support platform running through the application of digital, information and intelligent technologies, covering coordinated production technology, intelligent process control, intelligent equipment and system, big data analysis and VR training. Besides, JCHX has attached great attention to the IT application to mining, and has independently developed remote control and automatic operating system for LHDs, which has been successfully applied at JCHX Pualng project. In addition, JCHX-invested Dimine specializes in S&T R&D for digital mines, aiming at providing solutions in all respects for mining companies to improve process control and achieve scientific management.
