In the afternoon of 12 July 2018, Mr. Robert Friedland – Founder & Chairman of the world-renowned Ivanhoe Capital Corporation, visited JCHX Headquarters together with Mr. Peter Zhou, Special Advisor to the Chairman & Representative, Greater China Region, Ms. Cathy Liu, Manager of Investor Relations. Mr. Xiancheng Wang – Chairman of JCHX, Mr. Huaisheng Peng – President of JCHX Group, Mr. Zhanmin Li – President of JCHX Mining and other senior executives attended the meeting and had a friendly discussion with guests.
Since its founding in 1987, Ivanhoe Capital Corporation has specialized in the provision of venture capital, project financing and related financial services for a roster of international business enterprises. Operating from bases in Singapore, Beijing, London and Vancouver, Ivanhoe Capital is owned and directed by its Chairman and founder, Robert M. Friedland, and his family. Under Mr. Friedland's leadership, executives within the Ivanhoe group and associated companies have raised more than US$25 billion through a diverse range of financing vehicles on world capital markets since 1993. This capital has been invested in more than 30 nations, directed primarily at the minerals and energy resources sectors and communications technologies.
On behalf of himself and JCHX, Mr. Xiancheng Wang first extended his sincere welcome to Mr. Friedland and his team, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust and support from Ivanhoe; per Mr. Friedland’s query, Mr. Wang then gave a brief introduction on the establishment, development and future strategic plan of JCHX. The earnest expectation for deepening the relations and cooperation between Ivanhoe and JCHX in terms of mine construction and development, contract mining, as well as other business area was also delivered during the introduction. Moreover, it was recalled by both Mr. Wang & Mr. Friedland that their friendship actually can trace back to 2002 when they first met each other in Mongolia.
Mr. Friedland appreciated the effort and achievement made by JCHX in Kamoa-Kakula Project – a world-class copper mine owned by Ivanhoe & Zijin Group, inquired about the communication between both parties on site, familiarized with current overseas development of JCHX and its potential target for future business; after listening to Mr. Wang’s brief introduction, he complimented Mr. Wang for his ambitious and visionary outlook, meanwhile he surprisingly found out there were some early connections between both parties during the course of development, which brought about several common topics; additionally he stressed his love for China, for Chinese People and for Chinese market, he mentioned that he is fully confident that JCHX will achieve more in Kamoa-Kakula Project and the cooperation between two parties will definitely go further.
In the end, both parties again expressed the happiness and thankfulness for meeting each other; and really are looking forward to deepening understanding and strengthening communication between each other, in order to expand business and achieve greater success together, based on complementary advantages and mutual benefits.
