In the morning of September 5th, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit officially commenced in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech titled "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a Community with a Shared Future" . Wang Qinghai, chairman of JCHX Mining, attended the event as a representative of Chinese enterprises active in Africa.
JCHX Mining, China's pioneering mining companies in international market, has been operating in Africa since 2003 when it was engaged as a contractor for Chambishi project in Zambia. The company has provided mining services at 10 projects across the continent, including the world-renowned Kamoa copper mine and Kipushi Zinc mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Wassa gold mine in Ghana. Its achievements in safety, quality and efficiency have been widely recognized by local peers and regulatory bodies. Since 2019, JCHX has been extending its business to resource development, having successively acquired the Dikulushi and Lonshi copper mines in DRC and Lubambe copper mine in Zambia, while actively implementing sustainable development strategy, driving productivity by employing advanced technologies and adopting green and sustainable management philosophy, participating in international mining investment and the supply of critical minerals to meet the increasing global demand, as well as supporting local economic growth.
Beyond delivering economic benefits and supporting local development, JCHX Mining is committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities. The company contributes to community development through investments in infrastructure, healthcare, community safety and education cause. Several small but meaningful projects have been implemented by JCHX to enhance local living conditions. Additionally, JCHX has created significant employment and business opportunities in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), having offered occupational training and jobs to over 4,500 local people.
Chairman Wang Qinghai stated that during the summit, he devotedly listened to President Xi Jinping's keynote speech. We will leverage our strengths in engineering, technology, industry chains, trade, livelihood projects, vocational training and green development to actively contribute to China-Africa cooperation."
