The 3000t/d Mining Concentration Extension / Over-1000-meter New Main Shaft Project for Hubei Sanxin Gold-Copper Co., Ltd. contracted by JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd. achieved monthly sinking depth over 100 meters for seven consecutive months through April to October, and totally completed 760 meters which broke a new local record.
New main shaft is the key to the 3000t/d Mining Concentration Extension Project. It requires a short construction period, heavy work load and high standard. In order to guarantee project quality and save time, JCHX Sanxin Project overcome various negative factors such as limited workplace and difficulties in refuse disposal, it adopted a technique of simultaneous construction of head frame and shaft, optimized design and arrangements, made full use of advantages of equipments, teamwork and management model, which finally ensured the successful progress of work.
1. Advanced Machineries & Equipments
Sanxi Project utilizes domestically manufactured advanced machineries and equipments, such as hydraulic umbrella drill, hydraulic integral template and center rotary clamshell, which significantly improved efficiency and saved time. The highest record for monthly sinking depth is 128 meters.
2. Strong Sense of Teamwork
The technical team consists of outstanding employees with over three years experience who are responsible for three major aspects which are mechanical maintenance, drilling, mucking and concreting. Maintenance crew consists of highly qualified and skillful employees who excel in cutting & welding, as well as eliminating the adverse effect of equipment failure. Drilling operation is guaranteed with successful blasting and good forming of section through implementing a management model of fixed operator with designated equipment and workplace. Mucking crew works in an orderly fashion with high safety awareness and cooperates with each other which ensured rapid and systematic tapping and mucking process. Concreting staff work hard and conscientiously which brought high level of concrete spraying. During the sinking and lining of shaft, no voids and pits were found, and all jointing deviation is controlled within 2 centimeters. This excellent performance was spoken very highly by China Non-ferrous Quality Inspection Station, the client and supervisors.
The management staff proposed an overall plan, provided great support to the team, made optimized configuration about equipments and materials, stated clearly about detailed technical design, followed closely with the progress of key works, while strictly supervised safety and quality of the project. With the spirit of time-sensitive construction, no breakdowns or delays occurred due to problems of material supply, technology or safety during the whole process.

The management models applied in Sanxin Project includes process monitor, comprehensive motivation, designated responsibilities of shaft construction and material, distinguished reward and penalty. Thus sense of responsibility and working passion were strengthened among employees. Workers from each shift positively got prepared in advance in order to reduce shift changing time.
