From Nov 6th to 9th , the 2nd International Seminar on Paste Backfill in China was held in Changsha City, Hunan Province, hosted by University of Science & Technology Beijing, Green Mining Technique of Paste Backfill — Beijing International Science & Technology Cooperation Base, co-hosted by JCHX Mine Technology Research Institute. More than 400 representatives of mining enterprises, college and universities, research institute or equipment suppliers from China, Germany, USA, Canada and Australia attended the session.
The purpose of this seminar is to promote the communication and cooperation among participants in the industry, illustrate the most updated research achievements in paste backfill technique, and follow the recent development in this regard. The theme for this year is “Innovative Paste Backfill Technique Advances Green Mining Development”. Totally 32 academic reports covering the status and development of paste backfill industry, solidification and mechanics property of paste slurry, design and optimization of paste system, paste backfill applications etc. “The Application of Paste in Mine Backfill” by Prof. Andy Fourie from University of Western Australia, “Strength Development of Cemented Paste Backfill” by Prof. Mamadou Fall from University of Ottawa, “Difficulties and Challenges for Paste Backfill in Super Deep Underground Mines” by Mr. Ruijun Zhu from China ENFI, respectively introduced all kinds of problems and developments in paste backfill industry. Dr. Xiaohui Liu on behalf of JCHX Institute gave a speech on, which attracted great attention. Mr. Richard Jewell commented that this event is “a splendid gathering for professionals in paste backfill industry.”
