Though 1.5 years of intense & uninterrupted works, sinking & lining project of 5# Inclined Shaft at Zhaotong Project was successfully completed on 5th March, laid a solid foundation for future mining of deep resources.
5# Inclined Shaft is a key project for the client – Yiliang Chihong Mining Corporation, with quite a complex hydrological & geological condition, harsh working environment, complicated construction method, total length of 850m and high inclinations, thus very challenging for the project team.
The works were commenced on 1 Aug 2016, a multi-level parrallel cosntruction method was proposed and adopted based on actual situation on site and for the purpose of higher efficiency, however the pressure on material supply, ground support, safety control, technical services were multipled. The project team worked in concerted effort with strong sense of responsibility and safety consciousness, the construction method was improved continuously, planning & coordination meetings conducted on weekly basis, progress inspected subject to the schedule on monthly basis and problem solved on site. On 12 May 2017, sublevel development & chambers on 610mL were completed, 33 days ahead of schedule; on 26 May 2017 sinking & lining of shaft above 490mL were completed, 15 days ahead of schedule; on 5 Aug 2017 installation of ballast between 610mL to 505mL were completed, 18 days ahead of schedule; 21 Aug 2017 the shaft was sunk to the bottom, 45 days ahead of schedule; 5 March 2018 protective pillar were removed, sinking & lining of 5# inclined shaft was completed.
Currently the installation of ballast is still undergoing with high possibility of an early completion.
