On June 18, 2018, executives from Lubambe Copper Mine Ltd and DRA paid a visit to Pulang project of JCHX.
At 10:20 am, visitors received safety induction after a short break. Afterwards under the company of Mr. Gong Qingtian, JCHX’s Chief Mining Expert, and Mr. Yang Junhua, Project Manager for Pulang, they started their underground journey.
The first stop was trackless equipment maintenance chamber, where Mr. Yang introduced several types and numbers of equipment, as well as management and maintenance policies for those equipment. The visitors were impressed by the well-maintained condition of LHDs and said JCHX is one of the bests they’ve seen in terms of equipment maintenance, sanitary, management and execution of procedures and policies.
Subsequently visitors went to extraction drive and inspected draw bell, blasting hole pattern, DTH drill operation, Simba 1354 operation, ore extraction process, crushing process etc. Mr. Gong introduced in detail about development method, support specifications, stope preparation, blasting technique for draw bells etc.
After returning to the surface, visitors was showed around to the control room where Huang Huatao, Deputy Technical Manager, explained the real-time monitoring system, personnel location system (PLS), ore metering system and three-dimensional graphics, which assisted the visitors in further understanding of mining automation and layout of Pulang Copper Mine.
At 2 pm, a discussion was held in the meeting room where Mr. Huang demonstrated mining method and construction process, he also touched upon technical development, equipment management, material handling, HR and safety topics. Visitors raised their own opinions about ground support technique at extraction drive outlet, mesh installation, long hole blasting in draw bells etc.
At the end of meeting, visitors mentioned that they were extremely impressed by the tidiness and cleanness on site, standardized work, positive working spirit at Pulang project. They also praised Pulang to be the best mine they’ve ever been to.
