On Oct 28, the first “JCHX Cup” English Competition was held by Overseas Department in Chambishi Project, with participation of more than a hundred employees, including contestants and audience, Deputy GM Mr. Guo Dadi along with other officers attended the competition. A review panel was organized consisting of Zambian employees Sakala, Suzanne, Chanda and Chinese employees Zhou Shipan, Zhao Mingyang, Yang Zhiyong.
With continuous expansion in both domestic and overseas markets, more and more Chinese employees prefer to work in Africa. However, fluent English is critical for them to fit in overseas working environment and to facilitate communications. The competition is held to enhance English and communication skills of Chinese employees, especially young talents.
After two hours of competition which comprises three sections: talent show, classics interpretation, and situational dialogues. The first prize was awarded to Wen Yanan and Victor Sichilima from Lubambi, the second prize was awarded to Luo Qi, Memory Kapembwa, Zhang Hui, Kaposa Makambule from KCM; and the third prize was awarded to Qin Lilian, Cheng Yunhua, Agness Mumbi from Chambishi, Yao Xinhui, David, Mwape and Tan Shanyun, Rabecca from Lubambi. Mr. Guo and other officers presented awards to the winners.
After the competition, Assistant General Manager Mr. Zhou Shipan recognized contestants’ efforts, underlined the importance of learning English, and wished a more marvelous “JCHX Cup” English Competition next year.
