First great news in 2020 was brought by Tongjin Project on 1 of Jan 2020, that 7007.7m long haulage drift was successfully breakthrough.

Due to geological conditions, during the excavation of north drift at 500m of 1# decline, water inrush and roof collapse occurred for several times. Effective countermeasures were proposed and taken subject to site condition targeting at respective issues. Such as, wall for grouting was constructed where water inrush occurred in the developed drift, this way fissure zone was blocked and grouted properly while additional cost was controlled to the minimum, which was highly appreciated by the owner.
At 20:30 of 31 Dec 2019, probing was done with 5m drill rod when only 4.2m was left between to ensure the successful breakthrough could be achieved by one last blast. After six hours of efforts, successful and accurate breakthrough of the fourth large breakthrough work was completed.
Upon checking, horizontal deviation from center line and waist line was 120mm, vertical deviation was 75mm, both well within the specified allowance.
