KCM Managers Visit Lubambe Project

To facilitate better understanding and strengthen cooperation between KCM and JCHX, on 14 Feb 2020 six managers from KCM paid a visit to Lubambe Project – one of JCHX overseas operations in Zambia, where Mr. Su Yongding, DGM of JCHX Overseas Division & Project Manager of Lubambe extended his sincere welcome.

Konkola Copper Mines Plc is the employer of KCM project. In view of Lubambe and KCM share the same site, it’s beneficial for both projects to learn from each other. KCM delegation consists of Musamala Nyirongo, Plan Director, Bright Kasesela, Underground Manager, Sebastian Haabanyama, Geological Manager, Teddy Chilekwa, Equipment Director, Reagen Kabali, Senior Engineer of Ground Support and Risted Mwamba, Contract Manger. The purpose of their visit is to draw experiences from KCM in terms of site civilization works and cultural building.

After registration, safety induction, and instructions on refuge chamber and self-rescuer, the delegation visited No.1 & 2 declines which were developed by JCHX, and listened to an introduction on work sequence, section profile, face layout, ground support, and waist line control. During the visit both parties exchanged experiences in terms of work progress, construction quality, safety management and civilization works.

The visit facilitated better communication and understanding between KCM and JCHX, and explored opportunities for further cooperation and strengthened relationship.
