Lately, upon inspection by NFC and engineering company, the installation and equipping works of UG maintenance chamber on 400mL for main and west orebody of Chambishi was approved and accepted as high-standard work in terms of progress and site management.
The installation and equipping of maintenance chamber was commenced in mid Aug 2019, it was the first large UG maintenance chamber excavated and constructed in strict accordance with RSA standard by JCHX overseas division in Zambia.
The scope of work mainly includes water system, ventilation, oil supply, sewage & waste oil disposal, five workshops with lifting device for servicing large equipment, chamber for changing tires, welding workshop, waste oil reclamation chamber, oil & water separating chamber, spare parts storage chamber, network office, oil storage chamber, washing bay, flammable materials storage chamber, UG bathroom, air compressor chamber and other facilities.
In the initial stage, under the guidance and instructions by engineers from RSA including Mike and Helman, the team gradually learnt RSA standards and techniques. Several challenges were overcome, such as reducing the amount of work for cutting and welding on-site to meet the engineering concept from RSA design concept.
In early 2020, upon receiving an expedite request from the Client, management personnel attended weekly meetings for progress control and work coordination as chaired and held by the Client. Through such frequent communications, the implementation and execution of works, technical exchanges, material supply were significantly improved both in terms of efficiency and in quality.
After the main works are completed, the team on site shall continue their efforts to complete the associated works by the end of march.
