Recently, JCHX Design Institute and Yinshan Mining of JCC signed an EPC Contract for S1 Orebody development, with its contract value ranking the highest among all contracts signed by the Institute.
In order to successfully transit from surface mining to underground mining, and accomplish 300ktpa target by making full use of hanging wall ore, the owner initiated open bid process for EPC contract. The scope of work mainly includes optimizing design for mining at S1 orebody, constructing main drift (north-south) between -288mL and -233mL, and connect to the existing development system, underground development at various sublevels, design and installation of air supply and water supply pipes.
JCHX has been tracking this project since 2019. Through joint efforts it successfully won the bid in January 2020.
After the Spring Festival, the team expedited the preparation of preliminary design. Despite of the impact from COVID-19, preliminary design was successfully completed and approved by the owner owing to effective epidemic prevention and control measures, corresponding work plans, diversified working method including work from home, video conferences, which laid a solid foundation for the signing of the contract.
This step-forward would not be possible if without concerted efforts from project team and great support from central south branch. It is also a milestone event for it symbolizes the transition of our role from conventional construction and mining contractor to EPC or EPC+OM contractor.
