At 05: 40 of 25 August, with the sound of a blasting, a successful breakthrough between south haulage drift on 500mL in 2# decline and north haulage drift on 500mL in 4# decline was achieved with a total length of 11,170m.
This is the fifth 10000m+ breakthrough achieved at Tongjin project, which represents the completion of main haulage drifts in 4 declines on 500mL, with over 45km of main haulage drift connected and a total excavation of 500,000m³ completed.
Since its establishment in 2011, multiple national development records were created by Tongjin Project during the development of declines with monthly development record continuously renewed. During the construction of breakthrough on 500mL, handful challenges were overcome by project team such as broken ground, roof collapse, water inflow, high temperature, single-end ventilation, lack of explosives and outdated equipment.
The successful connection of 4 declines on 500mL significantly improves underground ventilation, facilitates subsequent prospecting works and was highly recognized by the Owner. It once again reflects the concept of “safety first and high quality” of JCHX.
