Recently JCHX Overseas Division and officials of Kalulushi City have reached a preliminary agreement through friendly consultation to fund the building of a bridge in Kapaso.
Currently there is a wooden bridge over the river in Kapaso which is poorly constructed without any handrail or protective facilities. However, that bridge serves as a gateway for local residents and children, only through which can they cross the river on their way to other places such as school. During rainy season, the rising of water level poses significant risks to the pedestrians. Lately Kalulushi city hall made an earnest request to JCHX Overseas Division in expectation of a funding for the building of a concrete bridge there to improve local people’s well-being.
JCHX Overseas Division has always been an active supporter of local public welfare. After receiving the request, leaders of JCHX Overseas Division immediately gave instructions to initiate relevant discussions and replied to Kalulushi city hall about the preliminary intention of making the donation.
After site inspections and public bidding process, Rashida Mulenga, Mayor of Kalulushi, and representatives from local community paid a visit to JCHX Overseas Division, where a friendly discussion was held with management of JCHX Overseas Division and the progress on construction plan for the bridge reported. Management of JCHX Overseas Division expressed their determination on supporting local government to progress with the project once the construction plan is finalized.
Rashida Mulenga and local representatives highly appreciated and praised the support from JCHX in enhancing local employment, public welfare investments and pandemic prevention. They value the efforts made by JCHX so far in expectation of more continuous support to local public welfare. May the friendship between China and Zambia last forever. Then Rashida Mulenga and local representatives visited the site of JCHX Overseas Division, and accepted the donation of pandemic prevention materials such as face masks and hand sanitizer.
