In the afternoon of November 25, the blasting of 97# drive of the 4th section at 1438mL marked the successful completion of production plan in November at Jinchuan Project, which was 5 days ahead of schedule, with over 80,000 tons of output and the total monthly production hitting the records high.
The achievements has laid a solid foundation for fulfilling the yearly production target. By the end of November, 779,000 tons of ore have been produced, overfulfilling estimated yearly production plan. Besides, breakthrough at 850mL represented that initial success had been made for the blind shaft project (850-650m) at Area II.
The achievements could be impossible without the great efforts of the project management and all workers. They have stayed committed to fulfilling the target through hard work day and night, and strove to improve the development of the Project by implementing JCHX’s strategic arrangement.
The accomplishments within the previous 11 months are mainly attributed to the following measures:
1. Safety Always Comes First
In H2 2020, under the circumstances of Covid-19 epidemic prevention, the Project paid more attention to improving the treatment of unsafe operation, inspecting hidden risks, strengthening safety training, and working with the Owner to carry out daily inspection of hanging wall & support status, prevention of fire & explosion & cold & freezing conditions and power check so as to ensure the awareness of safety by everyone and the smooth progress of the Project.
2. Clear division of responsibility
In 2020, the Project has encountered various challenges such as techniques change, insufficient manpower, multiple works awaiting to be done after mobilization, and the lack of equipment maintainers. Upholding the principle of “safety first & equipment support & solid implementation”, Project Manager Mr. Liu Shunbin focuses on reorganizing project crew to raise their passion of team work, as well as clear division of responsibility so as to ensure work quality and improve output, all of which has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development.
3. Orderly equipment maintenance
As the essential part of mine development, mechanization will be the most effective measure to ensure safety and productivity. Since the turning of 2020, various trackless fleet have been introduced such as 6m³ LHD, drilling jumbo, rock bolter, Tonly truck and MPV. For the purpose of “Zero fault” and ensuring equipment capacity, all section workers carried out preventive maintenance during the standby time which was due to Owner’s weekly & monthly inspection, likely to check if the power circuits, oil pipes, joint pins, brake pumps, generators, and caging devices any deformation or damage. Confirmation of fault-prone areas and easily broken equipment, clarification of effective measures and integrated rectification made the orderly equipment maintenance possible. Targeted measures have also been established to tackle equipment failures.
4. Quality guarantee
The Project pursues stable production while maintaining high quality. A multi-inspection system is strictly observed by each section crew, which consists of inspections from shift bosses, foremen, and spot check by technicians. Besides, concealed works have been recorded, and problems been solved on the basis of “Zero Tolerance of Faults” for quality assurance. For weak surrounding rocks, fore poling and reinforced support were applied to ensure safety production.
It is believed that 2021 will be the year for Jinchuan Project to achieve more goals.
