A monthly sinking rate of 110m was achieved in Nov at Bor Project.

The two shafts under construction at Bor Project are with a total depth of 1795m, with 76% completed before winter comes. In view of the challenges brought by extreme cold weather, it is critical to complete sufficient work before winter so as to enable the achievement of annual target.

As temperature continues to drop since Oct, top priority was given to maintain work progress despite of large water ingress while taking effective measures against cold and freezing conditions.

In the absence of insulation measures at batching plant, temporary protective measures against cold and freezing conditions to ensure normal water supply in the plant. To address water ingress, the project team maintains regular production through brainstorming and installation of drainage facilities including sink, stage tank, horizontal pumps.

Through concerted efforts over the month, a sinking rate of 110m (including concrete lining) was completed at 2# air return shaft without compromising work safety.
