Processing Plant at Dikulushi Copper Mine was successfully commissioned after 3 days of full load operation on 22 October 2021, which laid a solid foundation for the official commencement of production, and represented a major breakthrough for JCHX after acquiring Dikulushi asset.
In Aug 2019, JCHX acquired two exploitation permits alongside the asset in Dikulushi, a copper & silver deposit located in southeastern Katanga Province, DRC. Upon announcement of the transaction, preparation works were rapidly completed including labor mobilization, equipment mobilization, engineering design, site investigation etc. Tremendous efforts were made for drainage works in open pit since April of this year, which was eventually completed on 25 September 2021, representing a major step in terms of recovery of production system.
On 28 September 2021, first linkage trial-run of processing plant was carried out, post whic engineers rectified problems identified during trial-run, followed by a successful hot commission. In order to testify the reliability of processing system and equipment, full load commission was completed from 20 to 22 October.
The successful full load commission represented a major step for Dikulushi Copper Mine. Everbright Mining SARL shall take this opportunity to resume with subsequent preparation works, so as to lay a solid foundation for production.
