On January 22, 2022, the project of Key Technologies and Equipment for Efficient Deep Shaft Sinking at Metal Mines undertaken by JCHX was evaluated at Beijing Techart Plaza by an expert team from University of Science and Technology Beijing (“USTB”), the leader for the R&D program of Key Technologies of Shaft Sinking and Lifting in Deep Metal Mines, one of the National R&D Programs of the 13th Five-Year Plan of China. After inquiries and discussions, the Project was unanimously approved by the team.

The R&D program of Key Technologies of Shaft Sinking and Lifting in Deep Metal Mines consists of 5 projects in total, of which JCHX, together with another six companies including China Gold, BGRIMM and Central South University, is responsible for the second project, which mainly studies the technologies and equipment for ultra-deep shaft blasting, mechanized excavation and efficient full-section shaft sinking at metal mines. The project is designed to be implemented from June 2016 to December 2021 with Mr. Peng Huaisheng, President of JCHX Group, as the project director.

The evaluation was completed both online and offline simultaneously. After combing through project details, the expert team unanimously concluded that the project was implemented by a well-organized team, with appropriate management methods formulated based on the requirements of National Key R&D Program, project data shared among companies and relevant parties, technological documents duly recorded according to standards and rules, and high-level of coordination among projects realized. Besides, remarkable achievements were obtained in the research of technologies and equipment for ultra-deep shaft blasting, mechanized excavation of hard rocks and efficient deep shaft sinking at metal mines, which were then successfully practiced in the deep shaft sinking project at Huijin Shaling Gold Mine for China Gold. The expert team also encourages the application of such new technologies and equipment to more deep shaft projects.

Mr. Li Honghui, JCHX’s Chief Engineer for Shaft Sinking, along with other project members attended the meeting on behalf of Mr. Peng. The successful approval of this project indicates that JCHX has made major headway in the management and research of national programs, which will facilitate the development of JCHX S&T Innovation Division and enhance JCHX’s influence in the mining sector.
