A precise breakthrough was recently achieved between 1110ml return airway and air return shaft (constructed by Tongguan) at Kamoya Copper Mine.
The breakthrough was achieved successfully while fulfilling the target of “zero impact” from blasted rocks within 15m to the shaft center.
During construction, all-out supervision and guidance were given by the management personnel and specialists on site regarding holes drilling, charging and other construction technologies.
In order to protect the personnel, equipment and facilities within the shaft, various targeted measures were prepared, including wedge-shaped cutting, full-section blasting and reduced drilling length (≤3.0m). Besides, subject to the remaining distance before breakthrough, multiple blasts with controlled volume of explosives were executed at central cutting area (1.5m*1.5m) to minimize damage to the sidewall from blasted rocks.
Meanwhile, communication with Tongguan was enhanced to ensure that blasting is executed only after mutual confirmation of safety, and production at both sides are resumed only after the alarm is lifted.
The precise breakthrough exhibits the high standard services and marvelous project management capabilities of JCHX.
