On July 28, 2022, the Annual Conference for Engineering Quality Supervision in Non-Ferrous Metal Industry was held in Changsha, during which two of JCHX projects were awarded as High Quality Projects in Nonferrous Metal Industry for 2020-2021, respectively being Sinking and Lining of Main Shaft Project at Musonoi Project in DRC and 980ML Inset Development Project for Service Shaft of Southeast Orebody at Chambishi Copper Mine in Zambia.
Main Shaft at Musonoi Project is 685.4m deep with 6 insets (2*three-ways, 2*two-ways, and 2*one-way), with a total excavation volume of 44920m³. The project consists of 40 divisional works, all of which were completed with high quality, including mining construction, installations and divisional works. After one year of operation, it has been identified the shaft is completed with high quality, and the project is hereby evaluated as Excellent Work.
980ML Inset Development Project for Service Shaft of Southeast Orebody at Chambishi Copper Mine mainly includes the development of haulage drives, cross cut, underground magazine, trackless fleet assembly chamber, UG backfilling works and drainage works, including ground support with bolt + mesh + shotcrete in all main drives, making a total development of 10735.68m (equivalent to 207,800 m³ excavation volume) and shotcreting of 9267.3 m³.
Large-section development was carried out with high efficiency under the support of advanced equipment, such as Boomer M2C dual-boom drilling jumbo, Getman Explosives Charger, Scooptram ST14 diesel LHD, DS411 bolting jumbo, Cabltec, and Normet MPV.
In addition, innovative technologies were applied during project implementation, including smooth blasting technology, mechanized mixing and charging of emulsion explosives, and mechanized large-section development. Long distance breakthrough was also achieved with the application of gyroscopic orientation and GPS technology.
