Recently, JCHX successfully extended Underground Mine Development and Mining Production Contract with Konkola Copper Mines Plc.
Located in the town of Bancroft, about 25km north of Chingola, Zambia, the Konkola Copper Mine Project (hereinafter referred to as KCM Project) was established in 2012 and is JCHX's first international project totally funded by foreign investment. Since then, JCHX began to increase its influence on the international mining stage, and successively undertook projects such as Lubambe, Kamoa, and Shalkiya.
The extended Contract between Master Mine Service (Zambia) Ltd and Konkola Copper Mines Plc mainly includes: mining and development works of north Bancroft at 4# shaft, works at the extension area and lateral development, main development works at 875mL and 950mL, etc., to summarize in terms of work quantities, capital development is 4,811m, production development 24,498m, ore production 1.74 million tons, and long-hole drilling of 370,000m; the duration of this extended contract shall last about 2 years.
Currently, fully mechanized construction with trackless fleet has been realized at KCM project, with main equipment incl. BM282 dual-arm drilling jumbos, S7D long-hole drilling jumbos, ST1030 LHDs, MT436B trucks and Boltec rock bolting jumbos. The level of mechanization at KCM is among the best in the world.
