The average blasting effect at 1080 mL haulage drive of Southeast Orebody project was increased by 10% through technical innovation and management improvement in June, with blast holes mark exceeding 85%, outshining other local projects of similar characteristics and providing valuable technical basis and experience for future works.
The management and crew made concerted efforts to optimize blasting design, having adjusted cut holes diameter to Ø102mm from Ø43mm and strictly controlled holes spacing at arch areas and sidewalls respectively at 0.45m-0.55m and 0.6m-0.7m, which together ensured blasting effect.
Based on the optimized design, drill jumbo operators marked hole positions before drilling and controlled drilling angle during drilling based on different rock conditions to control accuracy. Each hole was drilled by Chinese operators together with local workers, which further enhanced local workers’ capabilities and skills. Blasting and relevant SOPs were strictly followed with detonator position carefully checked, which guaranteed the improvement of both quality and efficiency.
