Precise Breakthrough of 600-700mL 1# Decline Achieved at Chambishi Ahead of Schedule

A precise breakthrough was achieved at 600-700mL 1# decline of Chambishi Copper Mine in Zambia by JCHX Chambishi project, one month ahead of schedule, providing a guarantee for safe UG production and transportation of personnel, materials and trackless equipment, laying a solid foundation for later stoping connection.

The UG veins of Chambishi project are mainly divided into the west ore body and the main ore body, which are connected by 600-700mL 1# decline, 1095m long. Hence the decline plays a vital role in the systemic ventilation and the transportation of personnel and materials in the main stope. The decline was developed with whole section bolt & mesh support. The engineering team also made scientific, reasonable and targeted work solutions when the rock is extremely hard and accompanied by joints, biotite schist and mineralized argillous slate and other complex engineering geological conditions and local hydrogeological conditions of water ingress from joints, to ensure fast and efficient production organization, scientific management, high standard and high-quality connection.
