From July 30 to August 27, Mr. Wang Xiancheng, Chairman of JCHX Group, inspected JCHX’s projects in Zambia and DRC.
At Lubambe project, Chairman Wang emphasized the importance of safety production, mining area planning, investment on technical upgrading, corporate social responsibility, cultural integration and talents training. Chairman Wang first came to the production and technical center to communicate with the local technical staff. At the office area, he asked in detail about the deployment of equipment and current condition of UG drainage and production. He examined the maintenance progress of ball mill, SAG mill, flotation tank, etc., and communicated deeply with the service personnel. At the concentrate store, he listened to the report on the implementation of safety measures and the operation of the drying system, and conducted a field visit to the planned location of the main shaft, before giving specific instruction on power supply, water drainage, mucking and other systems.
At the executive meeting, Mr. Wang Gang made the report themed "return to common sense, improve understanding, rebuild consensus", putting forward the overall development goal of Lubambe Copper Mine, and detailing aspects of safety and environmental protection during mine construction, legal compliance, production and operation status after the takeover, existing problems and corresponding measures, and working approach for second half of the year, etc. After fully deploying the follow-up technical upgrading, project positioning, staffing and other works, Chairman Wang added that the work of Lubambe project at this stage is more complex than that in the previous acquisition stage, involving optimization of mining method and production organization, transformation and production increase, cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, management team building at all levels, team integration and other crucial works, and hoped that the team could work together to overcome the challenges ahead through contributing wisdom and strength.
Chairman Wang also fully communicated with Zambian management personnel. He called Zambia his "second hometown" and fondly recalled the scene when JCHX first went abroad to undertake the Chambishi project in Zambia more than 20 years ago. He mentioned that over 20 years of getting along day and night, the employees of JCHX have formed a deep friendship with the communities and people where the project is located. This year marks the 60th anniversary of China-Zambia friendly diplomatic ties’ establishment, and the acquisition of the first resource project in Zambia by JCHX is of great and profound significance.
At Dikulushi project, Chairman Wang went to the UG mining stope, development end, backfilling stope, UG pump station and UG geological exploration site to give instructions. Later, he headed to the open pit to inquire in detail the work progress of the flood control system, processing plant and the CRF station. He asked the site to further strengthen the civilized production management and improve UG production system, especially the ventilation and drainage systems, to overcome the unfavorable factors to the construction of processing plant such as windy and sandy environment, to ensure that the workplace and equipment are clean and tidy, to further strengthen mining production management to minimize ore loss and dilution, to construct concentrate shed in line with high standard to ensure the improvement of economic and technical indicators of ore processing, to further refine the regular communication mechanism with local government, and to strengthen the contact and exchange with local labor unions.
At Lonshi project, Chairman Wang learned about safety production, product sales, material supply, etc., asked about the operation of the processing system in detail, and put forward guidance on further maintenance of the equipment and facilities of the processing system and multiple measures to optimize the daily processing technology. When inspecting the electrodeposition workshop of the smelter, he highly affirmed the quality of the cathode copper stored in the workshop and the measures taken in the early smelting stage to optimize the copper quality, and came to the electrodeposition tank to check the effect of acid fog treatment and instructed on its next treatment measures.
At Kamoya project, Chairman Wang listened to the mining production and operation plan, gave detailed guidance on handling challenges faced by the project, and went to the Owner's Office to discuss the mining process and professional technology and other issues with its management. At Musonoi project, he asked to speed up the construction of the unfinished works and strengthen the demonstration of technical solutions in the special production stage, adding that the project has completed capital construction and transferred to mining and the mining method is in the experimental stage and requiring that the site management and technical personnel should fully verify the feasibility of the mining method, thoroughly assess the existing safety risks, and formulate targeted control measures.
At Kamoa project, Chairman Wang went to the east wing, the west wing and the long hole mining area to make a comprehensive inspection of the overall operation, and put forward specific work requirements according to the actual site work. During when, he reiterated the importance of scaling, requiring all units to ensure the quality of ground support, especially in the broken areas, scaling jumbo with standardized operation must be applied to ensure safe production. He required the project team to continue to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Owner to ensure the orderly connection of work procedures, and further optimize the long hole blasting design to increase production efficiency.
Chairman Wang emphasized that the management of production must be executed in parallel to the management of equipment and safety, and a good working environment must be maintained for equipment operation, to fully tap into the potential of trackless equipment to realize smooth and efficient production. Meanwhile, he asked the project to be fully aware of the importance of civilized management of the site, especially road management and maintenance, to further strengthen the construction and management of auxiliary systems, to build a solid foundation for the improvement of production efficiency.
At Kipushi project and Kinsenda project, Chairman Wang learned the status of site’s safety production, process technology, equipment operation, talents training, etc., and met with the Owners to conduct in-depth exchanges on promoting project cooperation and achieving win-win development.
At Chambishi project, Chairman Wang focused on the production organization, equipment efficiency improvement, material management and completion of production tasks in 2024 as well as the priorities of the next steps, requiring the project to further improve the comprehensiveness and pertinence of safety management, increase efficiency and create more benefits under the premise of safety. At the same time, he asked the site to actively assess and report on the performance of mining equipment manufactured by JCHX and give valuable suggestions, to support equipment manufacturing business to grow while achieving breakthroughs and innovation.
