On November 15, 2024, a precise breakthrough was achieved between JAMA Mine’s -550mL constructed by JCHX and conveyor belt inclined shaft constructed by the owner, with a total length of 7000 meters, which is the longest breakthrough at JAMA Mine. It provides a solid foundation for the smooth and efficient advancement of the mine construction and ensures safety, quality and efficiency of the mine production. This milestone event marks that JAMA Mine construction has entered a new stage.
In view of the complex underground environment, large water ingress in some areas, underground high temperature, broken rocks and other adverse factors, Bor Project pooled the wisdom and efforts of everyone, carried out water detection and prevention measures such as cover drilling technique at areas where water inflow may occur, to minimize the impact of water ingress on construction. Meanwhile, UG ventilation system was renovated to strengthen local ventilation in mining area and reduce UG working temperature, providing workers with a safer and more comfortable working conditions. With regards to ground support, the construction technique of “support immediately after excavation” was adopted to ensure the safety and stability of development works.
The successful breakthrough is a significant step in interconnection of all UG levels as well as a comprehensive inspection of JCHX’s technologies and management capability. After which, the -550mL ventilation shall be significantly improved, UG temperature and gas accumulation effectively reduced, thus providing a safer working environment for subsequent production. While it also established a convenient channel for UG material transportation, UG equipment deployment, water ingress treatment, etc., which shall greatly improve the subsequent production efficiency.
