A safety knowledge contest was planned and organized recently by Chambishi Copper Mine Project to assess the SOP training result and to further enhance employees’ awareness and skills on safety.
The contest is well received as a total of 8 teams were selected from applicants of different divisions and sections. The contest focuses on practical knowledge such as onsite safety confirmation, SOPs, equipment maintenance and operation, site emergency measures, etc. Through the lottery Q&A session, not only deep understanding and practical knowledge of safety is shared among the faculty, but also a closer rapport is forged among team members. Finally, after two rounds of fierce competition, the auxiliary section team ranks first with their excellent performance, followed by the maintenance team of the new panel area and the joint team of production and maintenance crew of main mining area.
As pointed out by Zambian safety manager Mr. Dominic Lyuni, safety is the prerequisite and foundation for everything, and we will secure this foundation by nurturing a safety culture that is deeply rooted in the mind of company members. It is expected that all members will proactively participate in all sorts of training programs to be organized in the new year.
