Always bearing social responsibilities in mind, Sabwe Mining has contributed a lot to the local communities by creating more than 1,000 jobs, laying power lines, constructing wells, cultivating maize fields, building roads, and supplying materials to hospitals. Among all these efforts, education in particular is receiving more support. Recently, Mr. Zeng Haipeng, Executive Vice GM of Sabwe, led a team to Lonshi Village School to donate 100 sets of desks and chairs while giving Christmas gifts to the teachers and students.

Lonshi School currently has more than 1,600 students and teachers. Since 2022, Sabwe has been donating desks, chairs, uniforms and other materials to the school, while providing subsidies to its faculty. This year, as part of its increased efforts in CSR fulfillment, Sabwe provided tuition assistance to school-age children of the company's local employees to help realize their dreams of attending school.

In response to the recent shortage of desks and chairs at Lonshi School due to the expansion of the student population, Sabwe worked with the overhaul shop to produce 100 sets of desks and chairs on an urgent basis and had them delivered before Christmas. Along with the desks and chairs, there were also cookies, candies, pencils and ballpoint pens as gifts for the children.

During the donation ceremony, the children performed an enthusiastic chorus and dances to express their love and appreciation. The principal of Lonshi School expressed his heartfelt thanks to Sabwe Mining for the support. “Compared with the time before Sabwe came to Lonshi community, the teaching conditions of the school, the working and learning environment of teachers and students have been greatly improved. Thanks to JCHX and Sabwe.” he said.
