On 2nd January, on behalf of Lubambe Management, Deputy Chief Executive Officers of Lubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML) Mr, Zhaoyu Huang and Mr. Daniel Chihili, Human Resources Manager Mr. Future Muzungaire and CSR Manager Mr. Nchimunya Nachilime presented gift hampers to the aged, disabled, orphans and mothers who gave birth on New Year in Konkola and Chililabombwe.

This year, the gift hampers were also extended to selected Lubambe employees and community workers who were taking care of the aged, disabled and ill dependants.

Mr.  Chihili  said  the  festive  period  was  a  time  to  give  and  Lubambe  decided  to  share  happiness  with  the community members. Lubambe  was  glad  to  be  associated  with  the  welfare  that  uplifts  the  lives  of  people  in  Konkola  and surrounding areas and was committed to providing a conducive environment for people to access primary health care.

Chililabombwe District Health Director Dr. Chembo Shamilando  and Joseph Mwilwa ward Councillor Mr. Abel Bwalya thanked Lubambe for the gesture and hoped Lubambe continue with its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes aimed at uplifting the lives of community members.

On 3rd January, LCML donated assorted food and household items to One Way Mission Orphanage. Chililabombwe  Mayor,  Mr.  Lucky  Sichone appreciated Lubambe’s act of kindness and consistent support to the orphanage.

“Today we witnessed a remarkable gesture by Lubambe through its donation of assorted items. The Company has shown tremendous compassion towards the children at One Way Mission Orphanage. As Mayor of Chililabombwe, I am deeply touched and grateful for such acts of kindness,” Mr. Sichone said.

Lubambe Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wang Gang said this season was characterized by acts of goodwill, and in alignment with this spirit, Lubambe Copper Mine Limited was pleased to engage with the children during this time as it endeavours to make a positive impact on them. This donation symbolized Lubambe’s commitment to enhancing the well-being and promising future of the children. Although what Lubambe did could not replace the affection offered by a family, it could provide a strong sense of belonging and support to empower the children to pursue their dreams.

Mr. Chihili said donating items to the children was a community responsibility and that stakeholders should get together and complement each other’s efforts in ensuring that the children were provided with the basic needs of life.

“This event coincides with the festive period which is a time to give and share the love. It is a duty and responsibility of the community to do what we can to provide for these children. Whatever we do we must compliment each other so that the basic needs are met and our children can be assured of a better tomorrow,” he said.
