With its owned overseas mine projects progress from construction to operation, while bringing economic benefits to and support the economic growth of the local communities, JCHX is committed to pursuing sustainable development and performing its social responsibilities by proactively supporting local infrastructure construction, healthcare, community safety and education, to ensure it creates lasting value wherever it operates.

On April 11, the infrastructure and supporting facilities at Lonshi border post in Zambia's Copperbelt Province, constructed with support from JCHX, were officially handed over to the Zambian government and put into operation. Hon. Jack Mwiimbu, Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Hon. Dickson Matembo, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, the Director General of Zambia Department of Immigration, the Governor of Copperbelt Province, and other government officials attended the handover ceremony, unveiled the project plaque and delivered speeches. Representatives from relevant government departments and local communities, and media outlets such as the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation witnessed this important moment.

JCHX has been engaging in the Zambian market since 2003, successively performing mine construction and mining works at Chambishi, KCM, Luanshya, Lubambe, and Mopani, and acquired Lubambe Copper Mine in 2024. While continuously dedicating efforts to mine development and operations, JCHX has consistently adhered to the cooperative philosophy of "joint construction, shared benefits, and win-win success," actively fulfilling social responsibilities, contributing to local communities, and promoting the development of local economy, education, employment, and healthcare.

Lonshi border post, located at the border between Zambia and the DRC, serves as a vital gateway connecting the two countries. To improve border post facilities and enhance regional connectivity, JCHX initiated the infrastructure construction project at Lonshi border post in Zambia in April 2023. The project includes a comprehensive office building, three staff dormitories, a public restroom, and related office and living facilities, with total investment over $1 million. The project was designed to accommodate both functional requirements and local climatic conditions, with construction strictly adhering to Zambia's engineering standards. During implementation, priority was given to employing local residents, effectively boosting regional employment and enhancing workforce skills development. The project completed the inspection and acceptance on April 9, 2025, with construction quality, spatial functionality, and auxiliary facilities fully complying with handover standards. This project not only marks another milestone in China-Zambia friendly cooperation but reflects JCHX’s commitment to proactively performing social responsibilities and pursuing high-quality development. With these upgraded facilities, Lonshi border post will further facilitate local trade, social development, and livelihood improvements.

At the handover ceremony, Hon. Jack Mwiimbu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to JCHX for its long-term contributions to local socio-economic development. He highlighted that the Lonshi border post project would significantly enhance border operation efficiency and boost regional trade and economic exchanges.

Shortly before the handover of the Lonshi border post facilities, the construction of four classrooms at the Golden Eagle School in the host community were completed as scheduled by JCHX's Lubambe Copper Mine Limited (LCML). Hon. Paul Kabuswe, Zambia’s Minister of Mines and Minerals Development and Member of Parliament for Chililabombwe Constituency, attended the classroom handover ceremony. He commended LCML for actively supporting President Hakainde Hichilema’s government-led vision of free, quality education for all and for its consistent efforts in giving back to the community and advancing local education.

To date, Lubambe Copper Mine Limited has handed over multiple newly built school blocks to Golden Eagle School, greatly alleviating the previous overcrowded conditions where 554 students had to share just two classrooms. Mr. Wu Shuanjun, LCML’s GM, stated during the ceremony that the four new classrooms reflect JCHX’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and conditions in the community. Beyond school construction, LCML will continue providing essential supplies such as stationery, desks, and chairs to the school. In addition to supporting basic education, LCML is also subsidizing 80 students pursuing higher education and research at universities and colleges.

Lucky Sichone, Mayor of Chililabombwe City, and Hon. Elizabeth Mwila-Ng’onga, education official, noted that the contributions made by LCML in Chililabombwe, particularly in the Konkola area, are there for all to see. Lukundo Mwandila, student representative of Golden Eagle School, delivered a speech at the ceremony, while expressing her gratitude to JCHX and LCML, she shared her excitement and happiness about the opportunity to study in the new classrooms and pledged to work hard to repay the company’s kindness with outstanding academic performance.

Supporting the development of young talents in host communities is a key initiative under JCHX’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments overseas. JCHX’s LCML has been actively supporting the growth of the young by offering job opportunities to all job seekers aged 18 and above. It also provides tailored long- and short-term training programs, along with a comprehensive talent development framework. Through mentorship initiatives, the  professional guide the young in gaining hands-on experience and rapidly enhancing their technical skills. Currently, LCML employs 132 young workers, 13 of whom have already advanced to managerial positions. In celebration of Zambia’s Youth Day, LCML recently launched a campaign titled "Voices Amplified and Innovation Ignited", encouraging young employees to leverage the resources and opportunities provided by the company for their professional and personal growth.

During mine construction and operation, JCHX places strong emphasis on green, low-carbon, and sustainable development. At the recent 2024 Awards Ceremony hosted by the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), JCHX's LCML was honored with the "Environmental Award for Best Facility Contributing to Sound Management Practices in Industry" for its innovative "Artificial Wetland" project. Faced with the limitations of traditional flocculant method in treating turbid water from finely ground ore in mineral processing, LCML developed an artificial wetland filtration system. This breakthrough significantly improves solid particle settlement and enhances the clarity of discharged water. The innovation has been highly commended by local regulators following on-site inspections.
