(This policy is published in Chinese and English; where inconsistencies arise between the two, the Chinese version shall govern.)
JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "JCHX" or the "Company") regards environmental management as one of its core values, fully implements the primary responsibility for corporate environmental protection and management, consistently adheres to the stringent environmental laws and regulations applicable in the countries or regions where it operates, and continuously improves its environmental management system. Guided by this core commitment, we proactively explore innovative paths and practical opportunities for green mining, comprehensively reducing the ecological impact of our production and operational activities. By deeply integrating environmental concepts into daily operations, long-term business management, and the entire strategic planning process, we effectively promote the implementation of green development principles across all aspects of the enterprise.
To fulfill the above commitments, we will implement the following policies:
1. Climate Change
The Company continuously deepens energy conservation and efficiency improvement practices across the entire production process. By comprehensively promoting the application of high-efficiency energy-saving equipment and technologies, it strives to reduce energy consumption intensity. Simultaneously, driven by technological innovation, the company consistently enhances the electrification level of production processes and increases the proportion of renewable energy usage, thereby reducing reliance on traditional fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions generated during production.
2. Water Resources
Guided by the principle of protecting surface and groundwater resources in its countries/regions of operation, the company strictly complies with local laws and regulations and implements comprehensive process controls to systematically mitigate the negative impact of production and operations on regional aquatic ecosystems. A regular water ecology monitoring mechanism has been established in self-operated mining areas to dynamically track water resource usage and water quality changes. This approach not only effectively prevents water pollution risks but also ensures the accessibility and convenience of clean water for local communities.
Adhering to the "prevention-first" governance philosophy, we have established a hierarchical management system for different types of wastewater generated from business activities—prioritizing centralized wastewater collection and maximizing reduction of wastewater discharge through direct recycling and cascading regeneration technologies. Special emphasis is placed on protecting drinking water sources, with the clear mandatory requirement that "all production wastewater must be treated to meet standards before discharge," thereby reducing potential harm to the water environment at the source.
3. Biodiversity
Guided by the principle of minimizing negative impacts on biodiversity and ecosystems, the company implements scientific management in ecologically sensitive areas and regions of high biodiversity value within its operational scope.
To effectively strengthen biodiversity protection, we have established a specialized management mechanism characterized by "customized formulation and dynamic optimization." Based on actual conditions, biodiversity conservation plans are developed and implemented through multiple approaches, including multi-stakeholder collaboration, specialized research, and the promotion of comprehensive land-use planning and management practices. These efforts comprehensively support the protection of species habitats, the maintenance of ecosystem integrity, and contribute to the sustainable development of regional biodiversity.4. Waste
The Company has established a mechanism covering management departments and institutional systems to strictly implement waste management regulations in the locations where projects operate, while simultaneously improving the management system by aligning with international standards. On this basis, the company continuously benchmarks against industry best practices to optimize waste management processes. By developing detailed classification standards, establishing full-cycle monitoring mechanisms, and standardizing operational requirements, systematic control of waste throughout all operational stages is achieved, effectively preventing harm to human health and the environment.
In waste disposal practices, the company consistently adheres to the management principles of "safety, responsibility, and efficiency," prioritizing the reduction of total waste through waste minimization design and resource utilization (including compliant methods such as backfilling). For waste that cannot be recycled, the company strictly implements safe disposal standards to ensure harmless treatment, prevents secondary pollution risks throughout the entire process, and guarantees that the entire lifecycle of waste management complies with environmental requirements.
5. Pollutants
The company has established a comprehensive environmental risk prevention and control system to systematically prevent and manage potential threats posed by various types of environmental pollution to human health and the ecological environment.
For air pollution prevention and control, all project facilities generating air pollutants (covering all stages of the lifecycle) must be equipped with pollution prevention and treatment facilities to ensure stable and compliant emissions of air pollutants. Regarding noise and vibration control, noise and vibration reduction measures must be implemented throughout the entire process of project facilities and production activities.
For the management of hazardous materials and hazardous waste, a tiered control system of "source blocking-process prevention-end treatment" is implemented to strictly control leakage and emission risks and reduce potential soil contamination.
Scope of Application
As a public programmatic document, this policy applies to all members (including board members and senior management personnel) of the Company and its subsidiaries (with operational control), and requires relevant suppliers, partners, and their long-term/temporary employees providing services to JCHX to strictly implement it. Additionally, the scope of the policy extends to all operating entities under the Company and its subsidiaries (with operational control), specifically covering mining service project departments/project companies, resource project companies, other business sector’s operating units, etc.
Regarding associated and joint venture enterprises, the Company will actively promote the alignment of their policies and practices with the requirements of these guidelines through the exercise of shareholder/board rights, ensuring that their policy orientation and practical operations comply with the core principles advocated by this policy.
