On Nov 18th, the 3# Shaft Sinking Project contracted by JCHX was successfully completed through its advanced technology and equipment, well-organized management and high quality and safety control, making it the deepest shaft in China thus breaking the record. Meanwhile, this project becomes the new model for the industry.
3# Shaft is located in Huize County, Yunnan Province, as the bottleneck project of Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Ge Co., Ltd. with shaft bottom at 854ml, net diameter of 6.5m, total depth of 1526m, which is so far the deepest shaft in China.
After portal and shaft collar construction, the team overcame problems such as high ground pressure, rock burst, water inflow etc, created marvelous construction speed for several months, monthly sinking rate reached 121.1m in May, 142.8m in June and 181.6m in July, not to mention that the increasing records were created under the above mentioned difficult ground condition, especially through fractured zones.
As the work proceeded to 1200m depth, we met unprecedented difficulties including severe crustal stress, rock burst and high water inflow, despite of this, all staff worked together to overcome these difficulties, strengthened quality control, improved blasting efficiency, upgraded mucking technique and shortened lining cycle. This year, monthly sinking rate reached 105m in June despite of total water inflow being 117m3/h, finally the deepest shaft in China was completed on Nov 18th which was 1526m.
