Subject to Safety Production Law of Peoples’ Republic of China, answering to the guidance of JCHX in terms of safety management and technological innovation, in order to minimize the potential hazards and high risks in raise boring operations, Wuqia Project conducted experiments on “deep-hole blasting for simultaneous shaft sinking”, which recently achieved initial success.
The regular raise boring methods not only poses high risks and great potential threats to safety, but also requires large labor intensity. With sub-level open stope back-filling method, large number of raises makes it very hard to utilize regular construction methods and results in low efficiency. In this consideration, Wuqia project specially organized a panel to conduct researches on “deep-hole blasting for simultaneous shaft sinking”. After more than two months of efforts, the panel finalized the blasting design and guide the work force to complete the drilling & blasting procedures. On 2nd July 2016, the experiment conducted in 4023# stope at 2685mL achieved initial success, which would definitely help to decrease production risks and enhance work efficiency.
The experiment includes three blasts on different levels, blasting crater was shaped very well with depth and section meeting the designed specifications. Based on this experiment, the project shall continue to conduct researches and tests, learn from the past experiences and strive to further decrease unit consumption, finally to achieve “one blast shaping” goal.
