In Aug 2016, new single month drilling records using Boomer281 in Wuqia Project was created respectively with 491m (Atlas 1638+) and 518m (Atlas 1838HD), both above the records created last year.
Wuqia Project locates in the remote area in Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Mechanized production and labor schedule have always been important issues there. Despite of good records created in the project last year with single month advancement of 458m and 463m using Boomer 281, the loose connections between different production processes and mismatching of labor distribution still constraint production efficiency. Since the beginning of this year, tremendous efforts have been put into solving these two problems, through multiple site visits and observations, it was noticed that the time spent for explosives charging was longer than drilling operations. If working points are not sufficient (less than five working points per each drill), the working cycles of single drill will be influenced. Therefore the project took various measures since reproduction from July, stimulate working spirit and monitor shifts turn, minimize idle time between process connections; ensure daily maintenance of equipment and machines,increase actual working efficiency and keep the drilling speed of Boomer281 at certain high level. By the end of Aug, new records for single month advancement were created respectively as 491m and 518m with two drill jumbos, which facilitated the project in meeting target production schedule. The company takes pride in these two new records and it represents a new chapter for JCHX.
