In the morning of 11th Oct 2016, the commissioning ceremony for No.3 Prospecting Shaft at Huize Project undertaken by JCHX for Yunnan Chihong Zinc & Ge Limited was held in a joyful manner. With total construction period of 1000 days, and first heavy-loading test completed on 26th Sept, the sinking, lining, installation, equipping and adjustment of No.3 shaft were successfully completed four days ahead of schedule. The leadership of the client paid two site visits to send their congrats and thanks in person respectively on 30th Sept and 11th Oct.
No.3 Shaft in Huize is currently the deepest one in China including sinking, lining, installation, equipping and relevant development works. JCHX entered the site at the end of 2013 upon winning the bid, completed the mobilization works such as establishing large temporary facilities in a very prompt way, and officially commenced the works on 1st Jan 2014 despite of the continuous freezing rain. During the whole construction period, several records were created and many astonishing achievements were made by JCHX, to start with, it completed all preparation works (i.e. get sinking equipment and facilities in position and ready for work) within 30 days, secondly maximized work efficiency through early stage construction at portal and shaft collar, thirdly created construction records of single month sinking rate of over 100m for two consecutive months in spite of harsh working environment including >110m³/hour water inflow, poor geological conditions, high ground pressure, severe rock burst etc and the fact that the shaft was already below 1100m; fourthly completed 70% of manufacturing of shaft equipment processing by the end of 2015 through well-organized work plan ; fifthly made contingency plan for potential difficulties might occur during equipping process, hence completed the hoist installation works in a safe and fast way with high quality within 55 days; sixth, increased hoisting efficiency and speed through upgrading and optimizing system; seventh, facilitated speedy installation of head frame on limited area (901t/71.7m) and kept deviation of head sheave installation within 1mm; eighth completed installation of loading system within 18 days and un-loading system within 15 days through multi-task operation, optimized work schedule and preemptive plan.
The successful completion and commission of NO.3 Shaft in Huize Project is very significant to the reputation and sustainable development of JCHX. Despite of unprecedented all kinds of difficulties and absolute no experience in such works to refer to, JCHX completed this 1526m-deep shaft with high quality and efficiency, zero-harm, and not to mention several construction records. It’s not only a remarkable achievement to JCHX but also a milestone to China’s mining industry.
