On July 16, upon eighteen Zambian operators were sent to their designated working area for commencing drilling operations, the first training program to Zambian operators was successfully completed.

While overseas business continuously expands, large mechanized equipment and machineries required for work successively arrive on site, insufficiency in skilled operators become a big obstacle to overseas projects. Despite of numbers of Chinese expatriates sent to Zambia, there are still some challenges due to language barrier, and unfamiliarity with local laws and regulations, all of which led to low performance of drilling operators, thus interfering schedule.

Two ways of overcoming these difficulties had been applied, one is to assist Chinese operators in adapting to local environment as soon as possible, the other is to recruit unskilled young (below 40) workforce from local communities and provide training. Overseas division prepared training programs and courseware for drilling operators in terms of safety, mining, and equipment; appointed experienced Chinese and Zambian management personnel as teachers, and for this purpose, a serviced Boomer 281 jumbo was used. Through two months of theoretical and practical training, all the newly recruited operators are capable of completing the work on their own.

After the completion of first session of training, overseas division has conducted series of activities to recruit more local workforce and select talented ones, then to ensure a successful completion of works.
