Five-Year Contract Signed for Kamoa Project

On 7th June 2019, a delegation led by President Mr. Li Zhanmin visited headquarters of Ivanhoe in Johannesburg, and signed a USD-288million-worth five-year underground development contract for Kamoa Copper Mine Project on behalf of Jimond Mining Management Co Ltd (hereinafter referred to as JMMC) – subsidiary of JCHX. It symbolizes a remarkable triumph of JCHX in overseas market expansion, while laying a solid foundation for advancing corporate strategic development.

With 30 million tons of copper reserve, Kamoa is the 3rd biggest copper mine in the world, and the biggest copper mine with highest grade discovered in DRC. It is jointly owned by Zijin Group, Ivanhoe and DRC.

Since 2017, when JMMC was awarded with the contract for twin-decline development at Kamoa Copper Mine, JMMC has always upheld the principle of safety first, overcame various obstacles such as insufficiency of manpower, material and equipment. Under great support from headquarters, JMMC provided premium service for and won high recognition from the client. By overcoming language barriers, familiarizing with local mining standard and regulations, learning Owner’s management concept and SOPs, JMMC gradually won the trust from client, both parties work together on the basis of mutual understanding and benefit.

Signing of the new contract marks a deepened cooperation between both parties and is a milestone achievement for JCHX in its overseas development.
