The successful commission of the battery-driven LHD (hereinafter referred to as JCY-2) on July 8th manufactured by JCHX Hubei marks the end of loud noise and high pollution in loader operation.
JCY-2 is a battery-driven, free of pollution and highly agile LHD, which is designed and developed for the purpose of minimizing environmental pollution, reducing equipment operation cost and protecting employees’ occupational health.
Some of the transverse drifts at Lujiang Project are quite long with comparatively small section, which lead to greater ventilation demand. Due to the defective nature of diesel LHD, large amount of discharge and dust not only deteriorate underground working environment, but reduce work efficiency. Fume and dust exhausted by diesel LHD also cause high underground temperature and decrease the visibility, adding risks to the operation of equipment. In light of such problems, JCY-2 was developed by JCHX Hubei and commissioned at Lujiang Project for experiment.
During the 2.5hrs operation at 8-0 ore pass on -296mL, the battery was reduced from 100% down to 47%; totally 14 draws (approximately 34 m³) weighing 120 tons were loaded during the process with loading point located 160-meter from the ore pass. The fan was not activated during the operation of JCY-2, while ambient temperature remained unchanged, no gas was discharged and dust emission was largely decreased. The result shows that JCY-2 obviously and largely improved the underground working environment.
The satisfying result of operating JCY-2 strengthened the demand and willingness of Lujiang Project to adopt green mining methods. According to the charging data, it only takes 35 minutes to charge from 20% up to 100%, with power requirement of 60KW/H. The power consumption during loading process shows JCY-2 can meet output demands. In the meantime, by using such equipment the energy consumption greatly drops and zero emission is almost achieved.
Application of JCY-2 definitely will become a fabulous name card of JCHX’s vision for green mine, and better protect the health of employees working underground.
