Breakthrough Achieved at Chambishi 3# Decline Two Months Ahead

At 18:30 of 24 Oct 2019, breakthrough was achieved between 400ml-500ml at 3# decline two months ahead of schedule, as the last blast was fired, breaking a new record.

This couldn’t be achieved without the concerted efforts from overseas division, project management, client supervision, section crew and technical dept. Crossing 10 stopes, 3# decline is between 400ml and 500ml with 100m vertical length, which was on the critical path and deemed as a key project. The long distance between 400ml and 500ml came with more challenges in ventilation, power reticulation and dewatering, which were solved through sectional construction.

Utilization of M2C boomer and other modern equipment realized efficient excavation through integration of panel stoping and digitalized mining, which increased our advantages. By strictly following Safety Regulations for Nonferrous Metal Mines and Drift Survey Regulations for Nonferrous Metal Mines, and drafting survey plans in advance, breakthrough was completed while high precision was achieved with only ±0.033m deviation.

Meanwhile construction plan and management were strengthened, standard operation procedures promoted, principle of “strong support, frequent survey, fast closure” followed. In the spirit of high standard, strict requirement and zero tolerance for process control, the successful breakthrough was achieved.

This breakthrough made it possible for the earlier commencement of production at 3# panel, between 400ml-500ml, which laid a solid foundation for site team to fulfil annual target and for the client to ramp up production.
