In May 2020, various records at KCM project were bettered: monthly excavation target was completed by 111.8%, monthly ore production by 109.5%, monthly output value by 108.5%.

Post changes of leadership in early 2020, various reform measures were taken including the comprehensive incentive plan, which effectively motivated team on site and improved work efficiency.

In terms of development, the average advancement for long hole drilling was increased from 1000m in Jan to Mar to 2000m in Apr to May, meanwhile failure rate of equipment reached new low, representing an enhancement in the awareness of equipment maintenance and servicing.

As the epidemic situation become more serious, KCM project paid more attention to the life and health of its employees. First, disinfection was carried out every day, masks distributed regularly, respirators are compulsorily worn by underground labor, and food safety was addressed. Zambian employees living in and outside Chingola were relocated to camp to keep them away from epidemic-heated area.

While fighting the epidemic, stable production was maintained by strengthening control measures. The executive meeting with attendance of Zambian & Chinese managers was held every Saturday to analyze and discuss problems, formulate measures for rectification and reform in a timely manner, ensure the orderly progress of all works and smooth operations.
