On January 21, Phase Ⅱ ramp development of Xunke Gold Mine Project was completed with a length of 834.195m and a total duration of 184 days, which is one month ahead of schedule.
On July 2020, the Xunke Project was conducting finishing works of Phase Ⅰ construction at Dong’an Gold Mine. While Phase Ⅰ construction was timely completed with good quality and being accepted, the Owner requires the Project to carry out Phase Ⅱ construction according to the contract. Under the pressure of simultaneously implementing two phases’ works, the project management forged ahead to prepare overall arrangement, so as to complete finishing works of Phase Ⅰ with high quality and commence Phase Ⅱ construction according to plan.834.195m ramp development, as the key part of Phase Ⅱ construction, commenced on July 23, 2020. After Phase Ⅰ works being re-accepted, the Project concentrated on Phase Ⅱ construction. The Project Manager said in the mobilization meeting that everyone should draw inspiration from experience and work hard to ensure the smooth implementation of Phase Ⅱ works.
During early ramp development, water from surface drillholes and the roof posed severe challenges to drainage and ventilation systems. Therefore, a temporary sump was established, the ventilation system was optimized, and a reasonable construction plan was prepared, so as to guarantee normal construction. While promoting work conditions and improving drainage efficiency, the Project strengthened manpower organization to ensure work efficiency and continuity, which has laid a solid foundation for future construction.
Then crushing rocks appeared at ramp from 65mL to 25mL. However, the Project upheld the principle of “safety comes first”, applying bolt+mesh+shotcreting support to crushing places and implementing two-shift non-stop working system, which was recognized and highly supported by the Owner. Hence, supporting was completed after 11 days of hard work.
When the Project finally could implement the construction according to the schedule, winter came. However, under the leadership of the management, employees surmounted every difficulty to keep pace with the schedule despite of extremely cold weather. Thanks for that, the ramp development was completed on January 21, one month ahead of schedule, setting a good start for 2021.
The severe cold can never stop the Project from meeting the construction goal. The entire Project will stay committed to making efforts so as to achieve constant progresses for Phase Ⅱ construction.
