Good news arrived on 20 November 2021 from Kazakhstan: works are officially commenced at Shalkiya Lead & Zinc Project contracted by Consortium of JCHX and CCECC.
A grand ceremony was held in the morning with the participation of Mr. Askar Bolatovich, Chief Engineer of Shalkiya Zinc, Mr. Kerim Nurmakhanov, Project Manager of Deloitte, Mr. Lianjun Fang, GM of Kazakhstan Branch of CCECC, Mr. Albert Wei, Deputy GM of Operation Center from JCHX, and Mr. Wudi Zhai, Project Manager from JCHX.
Mr. Zhai expressed that as a flagship project in Mid Asia for JCHX, Shalkiya marks a milestone in its strategic expansion process of “domestic & overseas markets”. We will strictly abide by local laws, respect local customs and habits, execute works in the principle of “human-oriented and safety-first” and give full play to the advantages of JCHX, so as to build a prime-quality project.
After the sound of first blasts, all leadership went underground to check blasting faces, post which they fully recognized the preparation works done, and extended best wishes to the project. Meanwhile they expressed willingness in offering great support in the future works and in furthering cooperation with JCHX.
It took only one year to commence works since the first visit in September 2020. As an consortium, both JCHX and CCECC conducted detailed survey and study in early phase. Shalkiya is not only an important project for JCHX in Mid Asia, but a perfect platform for talents building, which marks the major step for JCHX’s global development.
