Mr. Wang Xiancheng, Chairman of JCHX Group, visited DRC in May 2022, to extend greetings to the employees standing fast to their post, inspect UG construction and production, and give instructions to various project teams to encourage them to seize the opportunities presented by the times and make continuous progresses through targeted efforts, with the company of Ms. Bian Li, International Business Director.
Mr. Wang started his visit with Kamoya project on May 5, and held a discussion meeting with Mr. Gong Qingguo, Chairman of LA COMPAGNIE MINIERE DE KAMBOVE SAS (hereinafter referred to as COMIKA), the Employer, and other key executives of COMIKA immediately upon arrival, along with the project management personnel.
In retrospect of the sound cooperation between the two parties, Mr. Wang extended his sincere gratitude to COMIKA for the long-term support. Then Mr. Gong highly recognized JCHX’s effort in having successfully fulfilled each production task despite of all adverse factors arising from the pandemic, while expressing his expectations on continuing working together by both parties to pursue long-term cooperation and win-win development.
On May 6, Mr. Wang inspected the site together with the Employer, and gave five instructions based on the inspection result, i.e. to strictly implement project quality management to ensure safe production, to guarantee well-timed work procedures in connection to improve work efficiency and production capacity, to expedite drainage system development to alleviate UG pumping stress, to strengthen talent building by both skill training and health caring, and to enhance management of local staff to fully exert their momentum and establish a harmonious working environment. Besides, Mr. Wang requested the project to keep learning local laws and regulations and carry out construction accordingly.
Later in the afternoon, Mr. Wang headed to Kamoa project and arrived after a 5-hour driving. In the early morning of May 7, Mr. Wang inspected both the UG mining activities with large section at the northeast panel and the backfilling works at Employer’s area. Mr. Wang emphasized during the inspection that great attention should be paid to the safety management of large section mining works, strengthen bolts plus shotcreting support, and ensure the standard implementation of each work procedure. He also stressed that great efforts should be made to cooperate with the Employer to carry out backfilling works to maintain the balance between mining and backfilling.
In addition, a panel discussion was held regarding equipment arrangement and management. Mr. Wang, after listening to the report, expressed high recognition to the project and encouraged the team to pragmatically improve equipment management, administration and logistics, and workers’ & talents’ training to push for continuous efforts.
On May 13, a meeting was convened between Mr. Wang and Robert Friedland, Executive Co-Chairman of Ivanhoe, during which Mr. Wang extended sincere appreciation to Ivanhoe for the great trust and support, then Robert fully praised the project for its performance and expressed that the relationship between JCHX and Ivanhoe can be innovatively promoted to a higher level so that both parties can deepen their cooperation to achieve more mutual benefits.
On May 14, Mr. Wang headed to Musonoi project to deliver his greetings to the employees and inspect the work conditions, at where a meeting was held, during which detailed plan was made to prepare for later installation works. Mr. Wang emphasized that the project should broaden its vision and plan ahead of time while focusing on the training of the young to encourage them to shoulder more responsibilities.
Mr. Wang has always been caring about the employee’s working and living conditions, and during the site inspection, he delivered high recognition to the employees standing fast to their post despite of the widely spread pandemic, which has greatly inspired all employees to surmount all difficulties and challenges and make more contributions to the implementation of JCHX development plan.
