Underground Mine Development & Mining Production Contract Signed for Kinsenda Copper Mine Projec

Recently, the contract for underground mine development and mining production at Kinsenda Copper Mine was signed between Kingko Construction SARL, a subsidiary of JCHX, and Kinsenda Copper Company SA (KICC), a subsidiary of Metorex owned by Jinchuan Group. Kinsenda is therefore the 4th project for JCHX to provide mining services in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). 

Kinsenda Project is a copper deposit consisting of sulphide & oxide ore body, situated near the border of Zambia. The scope of work includes capital development, operational development, and ore production, with estimated completion date on 30 June 2025. Major works to be established include underground mining facilities, surface processing plant, tailings pond and other infrastructures.

Great importance was attached with tremendous efforts made to the preparatory works for this project, before mobilization of any resources, overall planning and careful arrangement were made by JCHX and Overseas Division in terms of procurement and relocation of equipment and material, project management, human resources, offices and living facilities, to support smooth progress of mobilization works.

After the mobilization of preparatory group to the Site, a series of tasks were completed safely and efficiently with the support from the Owner, including inspection and commissioning of early equipment, interview and recruitment of local personnel, safe induction, furnishing of office and living facilities.

During mobilization phase, Qin Guoyu, General Manager of KICC personally paid a visit to site and meet with JCHX team, to assist the planning for material supply, logistics, epidemic prevention, and to give instructions on the planning and construction of offices and living facilities such as workshops, which facilitates the steady progress of various preparatory works.
