Work Description: Musonoi Copper & Cobalt Mine Project

Musonoi Copper & Cobalt Mine is an asset of Metorex (subsidiary of Jinchuan Group) located in the northwest of Kolwezi, Lualaba, DRC, where JCHX is tasked with sinking the main shaft as a contractor. It is also the first shaft sinking project for JCHX in DRC market.
Works include sinking, lining and equipping of a 747m deep shaft with 7.5m net diameter and associated works, such as 8 insets and 2 loading chambers. The total excavation volume is 49550.8m³, with ground support of 150t rebar and 11339.1m³ shotcrete.
The project features the first shaft sinking project of JCHX in DRC. In June 2022, the project further undertook the installation of hoisting system and auxiliary systems. In June 2023, the project successfully erected the ultra-large headgear, the largest in Africa, with a height of 69m and weight of 2000t approximately.
