Description: South Air Return Shaft of 1.5 mtpa Potassium Chloride Project (Phase Ⅰ) for Laos Kaiyuan Mining Co., Ltd.

The Project is located in Khammouane Province of Lao People’s Democratic Republic. As a friendly neighboring country of China, Laos sits at the extension part of China Sanjiang metallogenic belt and is endowed with rich and abundant mineral resources such as gold, silver, copper, iron, potash, alumina, lead, and zinc.

The work scope mainly includes sinking and lining of south air return shaft, the development of inset and crib, ladder room installation, air raise and airway development, power distribution room, fans installation and commissioning.

In September 2022, the contract was entered between JCHX and the Owner for mining operation and management of Laos Kaiyuan Potash Mine, consisting of UG mining at southern mining area (including mining and cutting), drives development, support, and associated works. The designed capacity is 3.5mtpa by applying room & pillar mining method and decline development. The project designed and successfully installed ultra-long UG belt conveyor (2200m), assembled large-scale continuous miner and achieved the production ramp up.
