Lonshi Copper Mine

Project Profile

  • Project Type : JCHX Self-Owned Resource Project

  • Location : Southeastern Katanga Province, DRC (approx. 3 km from the Zambian border)

  • Commissioning Date : September 20, 2023

Resource Base & Production Target : Located in the southeastern Katanga Province of the DRC, the Lonshi Copper Mine boasts mining right resources of approximately 870,000 tonnes of contained copper, with an impressive average grade of 2.82%. The project was successfully commissioned and commenced production on September 20, 2023. Upon reaching its design capacity, the mine is projected to yield an annual output of approximately 40,000 tonnes of copper metal (40 ktpa).

Exploration Breakthroughs : Following the strategic acquisition of the Lonshi Copper Mine, JCHX initiated comprehensive exploration programs, integrating drilling, sampling, processing, and assaying operations. Significant breakthroughs have been achieved east of the Lonshi Fault zone, where drilling has successfully delineated three newly discovered major copper orebodies (No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7). These orebodies exhibit stable continuity, significant depth extension, and uniform copper grades. Crucially, the smaller parallel orebodies above and below remain open along strike and at depth, indicating substantial prospecting potential.

Strategic Prospecting Potential : Beyond the core mining right, JCHX holds 7 surrounding exploration rights covering an expansive area of over 900 square kilometers in the southeastern DRC. Geologically situated within the highly prospective eastern section of the Central African Copperbelt, these tenements present immense upside. Currently, systematic geological, geophysical, and geochemical surveys, alongside preliminary drilling programs, are actively underway.
