Description: Underground Development & Contract Mining at Pulang Copper Mine
Owner: Yunnan Diqing Non-ferrous Metals Company Limited
Commenced in: June 2014
Pulang Copper Mine locates in Shangrila, Yunnan Province, at an altitude of 3720m. The scope of work mainly includes horizontal development on 3720ml & 3736ml and long-hole drilling and blasting.
Modern trackless and mechanized equipment from leading suppliers like Sandvik and Epiroc are utilized on site i.e. drilling jumbo, LHD, and rarely-used models such as DS411 bolting machine, Cabletec LC, Cobra shotcreting machine, Mixtec UV, and even DTH drilling jumbo – DU411.
Following the completion of capital construction, an eight-year contract for mining production with block caving method was awarded to JCHX on 27th Jan 2016, with designed capacity of 12.5mtpa. Production was commissioned in Mar 2017, the maximum daily output exceeded 40,000t in 2019 and monthly output reached one million tons in July 2019. In 2020 monthly output stably maintains at no less than one million tons, approaching step by step to the ramp up target.
In April 2023, the contract was signed between JCHX and the Owner for cutting works of western flank (N4_N6 section) of phase I mining & processing project at Pulang Copper Mine. In October 2024, JCHX was awarded the EPC contract for cutting and mining works of north part of phase I mining & processing project at Pulang Copper Mine. The cooperation with the Owner is continuously deepening. Pulang Copper Mine is the largest non-ferrous underground mine in China, with a designed capacity of 12.5mtpa by applying block caving method via highly mechanized trackless fleet.
