Project Overview & Strategic Significance: Located at the Kamoya Copper-Cobalt Mine (controlled by Norinco Mining Co., Ltd.) in Likasi, Katanga Province, DRC, the Baian Project marks JCHX’s second major mine capital construction project in the country.
Engineering Scope & Expansions :
Initial Capital Construction : The preliminary scope centered on extensive decline development, comprising a 4,200m heavy vehicle decline, a 3,900m light vehicle decline, a 900m auxiliary decline, and 4,800m of associated stope preparation works.
Deep Mining Contract : In August 2022, the project company successfully secured a landmark 10-year contract for the deep orebody mining engineering at the Kamoya mine.
Technical Specifications :
Design Capacity : 6,000 tonnes per day (6,000 tpd)
Mining Method : Sublevel open stoping with delayed backfill
Development System : Decline development
Intelligent Mechanization & Equipment Fleet : The project operates a highly advanced trackless fleet, primarily including:
